Between makeup and social networks, Joselyn Ayluardo has created a community where she speaks upfront; she doesn’t like to write much, so she prefers to make videos on her YouTube channel Colorful Josy.

This Ecuadorian Youtuber, with more than 100 videos uploaded and thousands of views and comments, studied Multimedia Production and Film Tv Production. She started uploading vlogs four years ago because she loved watching makeup tutorials, but most were in English.

“I didn’t know anyone else who made videos in Ecuador, then I met more girls who commented on my videos, and I can say that through Youtube, I found excellent friends,” says Josy, one of them, Chic Tips.

We talked to this Girl to Watch about her likes, passion, and the #MeAmoBonito campaign.

Why did you decide to enter the world of fashion and makeup?

Since I was a little girl, I have always liked fashion but much more makeup. In what is fantasy makeup, I studied Special Effects Makeup, and in times like Halloween is the most viewed and requested video on my channel.

How does fashion develop in the city where you live?

In Guayaquil, I consider it a somewhat “slow” issue since there is not as much accessibility to all brands as in other countries.

What are the most notable events on makeup issues in the city and the country?

In fashion, I could say the Designer book; in makeup, it could be the NYX FACE AWARDS that I had the opportunity to compete in 2016 and be Beauty Vlogger of the Year.

How do brands and designers treat bloggers in your city/country?

In my case, as I am not a blogger, I consider myself super transparent on Instagram, and I do super informal “posts”; that is, if I like something, I say it crudely; I’m not much of writing that’s why I prefer to do videos totally, I think Ecuador is a bit behind in this aspect since here are just “hitting” the “blogger” in other countries all the audiovisual is the boom, here they still do not know what it is to be YOUTUBER.

What other activities do you do apart from being a blogger?

I have my own business called Globo City @globocityec. We are importers and distributors, and I am also the Community Manager of some accounts in networks.

What are the activities that help you stand out the most?

I love to do the live ones with my followers, we talk a lot, and it helps me to have a closer relationship with each one of them—also, the meetings or events we have done to get to know each other.

What is your favorite thing about makeup?

EVERYTHING, haha I think the colors, I love the glitter, blood, glitter, and everything that maybe not everyone dares, being able to be “other” creating people in makeup fantasies.

How would you define your makeup style?

I’m in elementary; it’s hilarious because from Monday to Friday, I’ll do my makeup two times, and from there, I go with my face washed 24-7. But I love intense lipsticks or many highlights when I have to make up.

What do you want to project with this one?

I think that, like all women, feeling beautiful with makeup raises our self-esteem to another level, but it is also essential to feel beautiful when we get out of the shower. Right now, I have a campaign in my networks called #MeAmoBonito, it is something that started as a personal project and has grown so much, and it makes me so happy to help many girls not only feel good physically but internally; how you heal a broken heart, that you value you and know everything you can be worth!!!.

What would you recommend to people when dressing?

Let them wear whatever they want, even if it’s no longer in “trend”; I don’t complicate it. I don’t confuse myself; I still wear it off my shoulders because I love to highlight my shoulders.

What are the following plans for your blog?

Create more content, organize myself better, and upload at least one video weekly (it isn’t straightforward).
