Casual Chic is how this Ecuadorian brand wants to be recognized, in addition to its recursive garments.

With three years in the market, NUAR has launched several collections and capsules that have captivated a large group of women, who seek to dress well and attract looks, says its creator Pamela Vasconez, 29 years old.

Despite having no experience in the textile market, Pamela – who graduated with a degree in Business Administration – decided to follow her dream: to have her own business related to fashion. “I have always liked fashion and commerce, and as a teenager, I knew I would have a business related to the industry, either designing or importing garments,” she recalls.

But before starting her business, she took courses in fashion design, image consulting, and pattern making to have a clear foundation for her new career.

When he started, he invested heavily in the brand – he acknowledges – but due to personal issues, he had to stop for about a year, and in 2017 he took it up again so as not to give it up.

To make her garments, she uses chiffon, stretch, and cotton because of the climate in Guayaquil. To find them, she visits several textile stores in the city or brings them from Colombia. “There is not much variety here, and it has happened to me that I use a fabric for a skirt, but then I see the same fabric in a dress,” she says.

She captures the different models of skirts, blouses, shirts, pants, shorts, and dresses she designs in them. The time it takes her to create a piece and have it in physical form takes her approximately two weeks because she has to go through several processes, such as creating the molding, making tests, and if she doesn’t like how it looks, she changes it again; some garments have taken her about two months because they don’t fit the way she wants.

Pamela assures that her customers like to dress differently because they want to be noticed, and that is why she does not design “trendy” garments because they are not well received. Despite having unique designs, she affirms that her brand gathers different current styles and does not follow one because she wants her buyers to take risks and use other things.

She is currently sought after for sets of skirts, blouses, or garments that stand out independently and can be combined with something they already have in their closet. She says that she has launched one collection per year but constantly offers new capsules with variations in the garments or new ones so that her customers always find new things.

Among the innovations offered by the Ecuadorian brand is the development of custom-made garments and options for plus-size girls because it has created tailoring for this section with specific clothes for them.
