Today the new edition of Runway by Modalab will be held, where Ecuadorian and foreign brands will present their latest collections and proposals for this season. We talked with the brand Mayta, created in 2014 by a group of designers who have come together in a store to show their art, ranging from handbags to hand-painted garments.
Where did you study fashion?
Our designers have studied in Chile, Universidad Católica; Madrid, ESDEN; Argentina, Universidad de Palermo, among others.

Since you created the brand, how has it changed?
We have been improving our garment manufacturing, which has allowed us to become a well-known brand in Spain and Colombia.
How do you see the fashion market in Ecuador?
Unfortunately, in the Ecuadorian market, there is no fashion; our country is very closed in this respect.
What are your plans for the coming years with the brand?
Open stores in Colombia and the U.S.
How did you receive the news that you would participate in Runway?
We were invited through my daughter Camila Madriñan, who studies at Universidad San Francisco.
How long did it take you to prepare the collection?
Three months

What materials do you use?
We design the fabrics as they are unique prints and are complemented with cotton, linen, wool, and other materials.
Who is it inspired for?
We are inspired by women between 25 and 45 years old.
How do you think this platform will help your brand?
It will help us to make ourselves known in the Ecuadorian market.
