Reply Montaña Cárdenas is many things simultaneously, but I think I could sum her up as an enthusiast for the world and its advances. She studied Administration has a Postgraduate Degree in Economics and Tourism Management, and has a blog combining fashion and travel, her great passions.
His Blog, The Little Venice, describes his adventures and tours. Undoubtedly a portal that you must visit.
Moda Ahora spoke with this Venezuelan Girl to Watch based in Barcelona, Spain, and she tells us a little more about her passions.
How did you start the Blog?
La Pequeña Venecia was born to show the natural beauties of my beautiful country Venezuela. A window to show the world the beauty of the Venezuelan Andes and the rest of the country and its customs. Also, to have a space to share my point of view and my passion for fashion and tourism.
Why did you decide to enter the fashion world?
Since I was a little girl, I read Vanidades (magazines) at my aunt’s house in Barinas, who worked in haute couture. I was passionate about the catwalks and Miss Venezuela and what it represented at a cultural level for the country. Fashion is an expression of personality, and I love everything that allows you to express who you are and what you feel.
When you started your Blog, were there already bloggers in the same place you live?
I don’t think so. In Venezuela, there were, but not in San Cristobal in 2011. I know two more (the beautiful Lucia from Letters to Lucia and the fabulous Kim from Oh Lola Blog).
How does fashion develop in the city where you live?
It has grown a lot in recent years. The country’s economy has changed so much that it has allowed national and Tachira brands to grow and evolve with hard work and perseverance. My favorites are Pata de Gallo and Pantaletas de Costal (to name a few).
What are the most critical events in the city and the country?
There is the Fashion and Tourism Week, where San Cristobal was the venue for many years (now it is held in Maracaibo), and the Tachira Moda. There are emerging fashion shows and many music, art, fashion, and culture events.
Has your Blog opened the doors to meet new cities?
Of course, you can, cities and countries!
How do brands and designers treat bloggers in your city/country?
In Venezuela, it has been changing over the years. Little by little, the trust of brands towards bloggers has grown, but there is still a world to go. I had the opportunity to live in the United States (in Florida between Miami and St. Augustine), and I had the chance to experience firsthand the importance given to bloggers, now as influencers and digital content creators. I had the opportunity to work with major brands and see how the work done in this 2.0 world is valued.
What else do you do besides blogging (work)?
My husband and I own a cocktail company focusing on culinary consulting and creating digital content.
In your opinion, how has fashion developed in your city in the last three years?
It has been evolving in San Cristobal and Miami, the last city where I lived; the growth is exponential.
Have you heard about Latin American fashion? What things?
Carolina Herrera and Ángel Sánchez are worthy examples not only of Venezuelan fashion but also of Latin American fashion. They are a source of national pride and prove that the talent of Latinos has no borders. Latin style is like ours, full of flavor and passion. I have heard beautiful things where each country, despite its current situation, continues to strive to shine and cross borders.
What are the activities that help you stand out the most?
In my Blog and social networks, I share my travels and lifestyle.
What do you like most about fashion?
It is a way to express who you are and what you represent. Through fashion, you share your style, mood, values, and passion; it is a very personal and extraordinary art form.
How would you define your look?
Boho chic and half-rocker. These are two things that I fully identify with, the bohemian touch and the grunge touch (influenced by the 90s, which is the generation I grew up with).
What do you want to project with this one?
Who I am. What I like. What I am passionate about and, above all, what I feel now.
What is the must-have accessory in every fashion lover’s closet?
A leather jacket.
What would you recommend to people when dressing?
Be yourself. Be inspired by the world, art, and music, but wear what screams your personality. Transmit your essence, and don’t be afraid to experiment; fashion is for fun!
What are the following plans for your Blog?
To continue traveling, learning, and growing. Always hand in hand with my beautiful people, my community with whom I am immensely grateful for accompanying me at every moment.
